Once your tools and components are gathered, and you understand the installation process, it's time to find the best location for your fan. Once you find the location of your solar attic gable fan, head to your roof.
Find the contact points between the roof and the backside of the solar panel. Apply adhesive to the roof and firmly secure the panel to the surface, making sure to leave one inch of clearance between the panel and the next roof tile.
Next, run the solar panel plug-in cord from the solar panel into the attic through the gable vent. Use zip ties or another type of fastener to secure and conceal the cord. Be sure to include a drip curve in the cord to ensure no water can run down the cord and into the attic through the gable vent.
Inside your attic, fasten the fan to the gable vent frame studs. Once the fan is fastened, tighten the 8 mounting bracket nuts to secure the fan flush to the gable vent.
